And that's Remco's predicament. As a GC rider, he is not as good as Vingo (and Pog). He also loses his head, too often.Without Jonas in the race he would have gone solo and won today.

Happens the best quite often, as they say.Sure, that would have made life easier, but that won't change that in theory that group was good to go if they had worked together. They chose not to.

Jonas only protected his GC and didn't care about the stage win. In MSR, Pogi wanted to win and Pidcock worked so he would have a shot to win.I always think it strange how people work with Pogacar but rarely with remco when they have a better chance against remco. They betting on remco bullish ways to get the better of him , and his personality probably rubs people the wrong way. I understand. But it was clear to me pogacar would ride no matter what in sanremo, and remco today would not with Jonas still there. I know people will disagree with me, and have opposite opinions about that last sentence. But that is what my intuition told me. Posted both things even during the actual races. That Pogacar would ride in sanremo, and remco would not today in catalunya. Everyone is free to think me wrong. Or disagree with the tactics i would apply from said intuition.

Remco must drop everyone to win, as he has done multiple times.
Yes, we both agree that Jonas had zero incentive to work.Sure sure.
Jonas did not need to work, but could have, same for the others. They others not named Jonas hoped remco would do the heavy lifting. Else why even ride away from the peloton if you ain't trying to win. They thought remco would ride alone. Or more precise hoped remco would ride alone so they could attack him once he was tired. probably not thinking they could beat him straight up. And chose to bet on him working alone and stay ahead of the peloton that way. he(remco) did not. Meawhile Pidcock did not believe Pogacar would keep them from the clutches of the peloton and worked to stay away. I believe Pogacar would have ridden. We stand on opposite ends regarding Pogacar and pidcock and ever will remain so. I do not think we disagree today on Jonas and remco. Just talking next to each other.
I was looking forward to see him win too but it didn't happen. He didn't seem to be able to distance his rivals.Nice of him to help Lipo get podium like this. “With his big ego”. Could’ve easily sprinted for second place without all that work.
Looking forward to see him win tomorrow
Most of Pogi's and Remco's wins are a long solo. Last year, in Amstel, Remco got some help, sort of, chasing Pogi. Also a rider maximising his chances to win and secure a podium.Sure sure.

Just talking next to each other. except that I do not believe remco needed to drop everyone today. just the right people. Which he did in the penultimate round. Had that group worked, Remco has good chances from that sprint. more than he had versus the remaining peloton.
It would have been a different race without all Remco work.Nice of him to help Lipo get podium like this. “With his big ego”. Could’ve easily sprinted for second place without all that work.

I dont even know if he's as good as Vine, nevermind the aliensAnd that's Remco's predicament. As a GC rider, he is not as good as Vingo (and Pog). He also loses his head, too often.
Was quietly hoping for Flanders. Maybe if he had not crashed. But probably he would never have ridden it this year anyways and it was just wishful thinking.Wasn’t able to see any race today. Did see an interview where he said he isn’t riding Flanders or Roubaix
The crash definitely didn’t help. Now doing no racing for 3 weeks in Spain is boring thoughWas quietly hoping for Flanders. Maybe if he had not crashed. But probably he would never have ridden it this year anyways and it was just wishful thinking.

In this form I can only see Pogacar win from him in AGRBut maybe better for a result in Amstel. Del Toro, Skjelmose, and remco main favourites i would think there.
Healey and Van Wilder as dark horses
Really? I would not put remco in a league of his own after Pogacar this year (i mean for ardennes)In this form I can only see Pogacar win from him in AGR
With his sprint, attack on the flat and the look yesterday/today... I dont think anyone else can beat him in AGR either. In this form I can only see Pogacar win from him in AGR
Last autumn, WC, Lombardia and EC, he was second dropping every other rider. He could do that in Amstel too.Really? I would not put remco in a league of his own after Pogacar this year (i mean for ardennes)
He's season trajectory is okay (aside from uae blip) and he'll be competitive. But i don't see him as unbeatable but for Pogacar in AGR.
He's not a reference because most riders don't use chemo to change their body comp. For the record I believe that he was 25 when he was diagnosed.Bizarre point on any and every graph.. Where Armstrong was at 27..He is either a reference or he is not, wrong forum to allow the comparison.
