I have the feeling that an in form Remco from Plateau de Beille would have dropped HInault.

Remco is only a bad climber when compared to Pog. He'd bad compared to Vingo when Remco has an off day, but did drop Vingo on Stage 18 at the TDF
And you don't think a 3 months removed from a hospital Jonas was allowed to have a bad day? Because that's the only reason why Remco was on very few occasions a better climber

Landa climbed faster than Contador (and Lance...) in that Tour, and when they faced each other, he wasn't better than him to win a Tour.

Don't compare Remco to Hinault in the Tour; you're not doing him any favors.

you act like Remco also wasn't 3 months removed from the hospital as well...
Well, you are also acting like Remco dropping one single time Jonas in a medium mountain stage (17, not 18) is a relevant data, when it's not... He got dropped every single time when it mattered.

In the same article they also discuss AGR of last year where he was strongest and made a mistake tactically, as well as Flanders, Roubaix and his time in Calpe the past few weeks

Evenepoel wants to ride Flèche, but team says they first want to see how hard AGR was. I think it’s silly he wouldn’t do all of them. Last year was an outlier. After Brabantse and AGR, then a wet Flèche he was already played out due to not having a proper base. Which we saw in TDF too…

Honestly this isn't last season, and just as important, aside from Seixas the peloton is relative light this year. Could be one of the few years where Remco has an actual chance at Fleche. I dunno. Fleche is hard for Remco. On one hand I would not wait till the foot of the climb if i'm Remco. The problem is getting away right before the final climb and get a small gap is also near impossible cause of the peloton speed. On the other hand waiting till the final climb is maybe the only way to go about this race. And he just needs perfect timing on a very light field. Mind you, i never rly considered Fleche parcours before as i just always considered all would be decided in the final. Maybe there is an actual place in the race with about 25 km to go where Remco could get away. I somehow doubt it. Or more people would have tried it in years past.

Just go on Mur d’Huy, 30km before finish. You can set a pace with the team that most are extremely tired and then you attack. Maybe someone follows, and you can take turns. Don’t wait for sprint with peloton, he isn’t winning that
