Cant help feeling his leading on descent helped Alap

Pinot is not the best descender, but neither are any of the others in that group. So wouldn't have made much difference who was leading, Julian would have caught up anyway.

Pinot actually did a very good thing yesterday: he closed the gap on Thomas before the top of the Galibier. Without his move Ineos' 1-2 plan would have worked.

Sadly has gone as expected, I didn't want to jump on the Pinot and also Fuglsang hype train for this reason, in three weeks there is always something for them and they need a planetary alignment not to win but also to podium a GT despite having the level needed to do so when at their best.

Regarding Pinot it's already a couple of years that I suggest that he should go only stage hunting in GTs and focus on the classics and maybe short stage races but until he stays with Madidiot he'll continue to waste season after season and last year he won two stage in the Vuelta and two classics only thanks to a blessing in disguise otherwise he would have been in France after the Giro and nowhere in the fall.

Pinot gained a lot of respect from me for the way he rode this Tour. Cycling can be so unfair. Total disaster. What was an exciting Tour can now get a terrible anticlimax.

Really harsh on Pinot and you have to feel sorry for him to go out like that.

Hopefully he comes back next year and puts up another great show in a July.

Unfortunate, but Pinot will never win the Tour. The guy is just not tough enough.
Ok, i agree somewhat that Pinot might not be the toughest rider. But what does this have to do with today? You think there is any single rider who just powers through a torn quad without influence on his performance? Just not possible.

I'm devastated for Tibopino. Sad day for France, for Le Tour, for cycling. In many ways, he accomplished what he set out to do: show the true Pinot. And that is a classy rider, aggressive, fun to watch, a champion who can fight at the very top, with the very best.

What a tragedy. Being a fan of Thibaut Pinot is embarking on a roller-coaster ride. I hope he gets well soon, bounces back like he always does, and wins bigger than ever.

Now I need to find a cliff...

What kind of crap conclusion is that??

The conclusion of watching his entire career.

Probably not the time, he’s been brilliant this year and it sounds like a massively unlucky injury, not a normal Pinot bad day.

Not talking about his injury....talking in general, this is the Thibault Pinot thread, not the Pinot injury thread.

Yes, he had added some excitement but he and his team are not at the level of the competition.

Your original post said ‘he is not tough enough’ which has zero relevance from what we’ve seen this Tour and the injury he’s suffered.
