I would in general agree. The way of moderating and the type of posters it fosters has made the forum incredibly bland and boring, and borderline useless.

We used to have excellent quality threads in the clinic. Now, with the current policies in place I hardly even bother to check them out.

I'm shopping for a different forum. Where's BroDeal nowadays anyway?

Perhaps now, after three seasons or so (in its current format), everything that needed to be said has been said.

A seasoned radio DJ once wrote that when a musical genre had passed its best, one usually started to hear covers in that style of classical standards. Like Beethoven's Fifth in disco and Adagio for Strings in dance music. I have lately begun to believe the same could be true of this forum with the "Who is/are your favorite user(s) on this forum?" thread. It has the stink of nudgewink self-parody all over it.

Things are certainly quiet on certain news fronts, but it's probably also true that there's not much going on of genuine interest in the Clinic.

Finally, I don't argue much here, I don't bait others, I'm not a scientist and I don't know anybody on the inside of cycling. So I wonder if that makes me a bland, boring and borderline useless poster or whether you meant something else.

I think a lot of the subjects have been argued to death by this stage, especially in the clinic. I know personally I cannot be bothered going over the same ground again and again. Hell, look at the Lance thread and note how many days it has been since someone posted in it. Hard to believe.

Lance was definitely a lightning rod but as predicted, once he quit so did most of his fans. Who remembers guys like Belokki, Robert Merivel and a few others.
Lance is my most despised athlete ever and as much as I want to see the publics eyes opened to the truth, I am just happy he is becoming more irrelevant by the day.

I actually enjoy following the race threads even though I dont post in them much, prefer to actually watch the races properly. Other than that there is not much new happening other than transfers and team mergers.

Oh and BroDeal is definitely still here, it took me a while to figure out but there was someone vaguely familiar around.

I was suspicious for a while but the RAPHA thread sealed the deal. That was pure Brodeal.

I also sensed a familiarity from DM. It was the thread on carbon fiber road bikes and mountain bikes where it really stood out to me. At the time though, BroDeal never popped in my head, only when somebody said he was still here that I knew exactly who it was.

By the way, I'm totally ignorant to how forums work. This is the only non-academic forum I've ever belonged to. I wasn't even aware forum admins could trace that.

A week or two after this and other posts and the air in the Clinic already seems to be full of the stink of fresh, new sleaze. BroDeal is back, the insider info is flowing again and Polish is pealing Lance's bell harder than ever. Yay!

I was directed to this thread as being a better place to discuss this, if it is not then I am sorry. I have no idea what the phrase "amount of blowage" means.

I don't know why I have not objected to kill in a similar way, I guess a sign I am not consistent. Crush, thrash, whipped and even beat do have violent meanings I guess. Maybe I cannot sustain my objection and my objection has no basis except it was new to me. Still I cannot see why it needs to be used and as others have voiced objections, some which seem alot stronger than mine, then it might be worth everyone considering whether they should use it or not in the future. If a poster uses it in other parts of their life regularly it might not be that easy to stop using it here.

Hopefully you WOULD object the term "kill" if some one posted it in a death threat.

There is a difference between using the term/action "Rape" figuratively and literally.

Posting that a rider "raped" the course is bad enough. Figurative.
But posting that one hopes a rider is raped while in prison, literally, that is bannable in my opinion. Akin to a death threat. Scary and sick.
