El Pistolero said:So what do you expect from him in his first real year after his ban?
scullster46 said:What do you guys think of his possibilities with worlds? The course may suit him well, and who knows how good Gesink will be at that point. Will he even be chosen for the dutch team??

Ruudz0r said:The Dutch can have an awesome WC team.
Gesink, Mollema, Kruijswijk, Poels, Ruijgh, Hoogerland, Kroon (if he is at a good level again), Dekker (if he is at a good level again). 8 guys who can really perform on the parcours of the 2012 worlds (+ probably extra motivated since it is in the Netherlands).
Anyway OT: Im really curious about what Dekker is able to do next year.
FignonLeGrand said:The Dutch often have a good or very good team, they just cannnot win. I dont know why, I am not bing anti dutch, but so often the Dutch just seem to conspitre to lose it for themselves. Even in the Nationals its no so rare for a non Rabo rider to win which is just unthinkable from a team perpsective. As for Vos; well surely they have to realize they have the wrong tactics, this year they had a whole team near the front one second and the next they missed the jump. Should have sent someone away for a last km victory but no they went for Vos as she was guaranteed to win . . . . .. . . . . edit; sorry I mean finish second.
Wow, some expectations you have. A bit rich, if we look at what he's done this season.Ryo Hazuki said:thomas will have a year like 2007 I think, he will fight for wins in tirreno and or p-n already. could also do very well gc in tour since they have no other gc man
Vos was the fastest by far, she just got boxed in. The whole peloton rides on her wheel. You can call that lame tactics, but I don't think it's that weird to appoint the best rider in the world as your team leader.FignonLeGrand said:The Dutch often have a good or very good team, they just cannnot win. its the same with the oranjeKwibus said:It's not all that strange since the dutch lack a rider like Gilbert, Cavendish, Hushovd, Contador, Evans etc. They/We got strong riders, but we simply lack a champion. Someone that is actually able to win hard races, instead of finishing 3rd or 8th etc.
It's not like countries without a champion do any better.
I'm talking about men now obviously. Vos is a different story.
About Dekker: I don't expect too much from him this year.
No, that's totally different. as in football we have actual world class players.Zam_Olyas said:its the same with the oranje

A good GC at the Tour is certainly out of the question. In fact I don't know if he could ever do that, he's not a born GT rider.

As for the Dutch men conspiring to lose it for themselves, when do we ever go into the Worlds as favourites? That's right: never.
You were wrong.Ryo Hazuki said:yeah I remember people laughed at me when I said rujano was the only rider able to follow contador in the giro. look what happened
Rujano couldn't follow Contador, otherwise he'd have finished 2nd on GC. To do it two or three times isn't enough, just ask Nibali. Or Steven Kruijswijk, for that matter.Michielveedeebee said:He was on Etna and the other mountain
You sound like ACF about Evans in the Giro last year. He was just sick, but otherwise he was Basso's equal. *** edited by mod ***Ryo Hazuki said:he didn't finish 2nd because of that sterrato stage. he lost over 5 minutes there. fact. also he lost more than 2 minutes in a rainstage. in mountains he was equel of rujano despite not being well the 2nd week and being on anti biotics.
