Well, it's time to tune your sarcasm detector...
Just like UAE & Jumbo, the forum is in outstanding early season form.
Should I take this discussion elsewhere?

Valverde is ahead of Coppi by 23 % and will surpass Anquetil this year. Rebellin is ahead of Gilbert, Contador and Cancellara. Makes you think. Or not.Whatever you do with your spare time is your business, so i won't lose any sleep over who you would give the edge to or what you read. PCS all time ranking is based on big results and favors bigger wins, and yet Evenepoel is ahead of the Slovenian Masnada by a landslide. Makes you think. Or not.
Amazing, and they did this with only 20% of raced kms? Or you didn't take the thinking part too seriously, did you.Valverde is ahead of Coppi by 23 % and will surpass Anquetil this year. Rebellin is ahead of Gilbert, Contador and Cancellara. Makes you think. Or not.
I thought this whole Evenepoel = Belgium Spilak thing was a meme that was supposed to be funny.
It is really surprising that such a comparison that can only be taken as a joke has actually turned into something of a discussion.
See here @Red RickStarttimes for the GC/ITT favorites.

Well, Sagan was actually dropped on the second to last hill, then chased in the downhill, and in the last ramp, he went to the front like he wanted to attack, which somehow scared Quintana and others and they did not try anything on him. I am not sure Sagan did it on purpose, but that's what it looked like. If so, that would be a tactical masterpiece from his side, and something very odd and rare for him.Yeah? That was one of Sagan's best ever wins, it doesn't mean the route is easy...

Peter Sagan at the press conference before Tirreno-Adriatico:
“I got Covid for the second time in January. I had a training camp in Gran Canaria after and I started racing in France before Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. I got a little flu this week but it’s already passed. What I’ll be able to do in this race depends on my condition and I’m still looking for my good condition. The real season starts now.”
Let´s see if he can do some damage.
Any start times on the stage and GC favorites?
Guys, relax, its all a bit of fun. That's partly why we love cycling, it's fun.
I started the Belgian Simon Spilak joke before the last Giro. Because Remco is a Belgian Simon spilak. Put him in Tour de Romandie or Tour de Suisse or Balise Belgium Tour and he could probably destroy even Pogacar or Roglic, just as Spilak could destroy froome or Contador. He can also easily win races like Paris Nice, Tirreno, Algarve etc. But not a grand tour.
I was slightly confused as to why Quickstep announced Remco as a leader of 2021 Giro, instead of Masnada. Fausto was a rider I considered greatly underrated. He accidentally got a GC top 10 at the Giro in 2020, and made froome and nibali consider retirement at the 2019 Tour of the Alpes. But sadly he was on the team with his royal highness the Prince of flanders, Remco 'Belgian Simon spilak' Evenepoel.
I'm sure Fausto would be great at tennis, because he has great endurance (as we saw in Lombardia when he destroyed roglic and alaphilippe) and a long reach. I'm not sure however that he could quite win Eurovision , although I've never heard him sing. He would have my vote.
I hope Fausto will finally get this year some results that match his talent, and I'm sure Remco will take many impressive victories and keep his fans happy. They have nothing to worry about.
Enjoy the racing.
I believe Sagan will have to race himself into shape to get better. I don't believe at this stage of his career he has the discipline to train hard enough to win...like someone named Wout who can show up from a training camp and light up a race.Well, him spicing things up in TA is something we got used to in the past. It would be very nice if he could get in the fight with the climbers again. But it would be a miracle if it happen. But fan could at least hope. Although giving it all and not riding in "workout/getting kms in a race" mode would be a good sign too. At least he doesn't play any mind games and states his condition where it actually is.
I think Trentin is the outlier on that list as he has shown a similar level of strength and results at UAE as he did with QS.If Masnada leaves QS, he'll be one of the guys in the long line of riders that became more succesfull after they left QS like Gaviria, Terpstra, Trentin, Viviani and such.
He's perfect where he is. Riding for Remco who's genuily more talented and perhaps, if he's lucky, win some races because his teammates protect his attack.
Make sure to get your facts straight first. Quickstep took Evenepoel to the Giro to see how things would go and take it day by day. The reason why he got the #1 bib number, it was not asked by the team, it was given by the organization, likely because they thought it was more interesting from a commercial point of view considering he was their posterboy for the 2020 version where he could not participate due to his crash. Funnily enough, it was your boy Fausto who gave an interview in GdS saying Evenepoel was going to win the Giro. The reason the team started riding for Evenepoel in the Giro, was because Almeida had already lost 4-5 minutes in stage 4, while Evenepoel at that time was still ahead of Bernal in GC.Guys, relax, its all a bit of fun. Any reason in particular? I was a bit baffled by his Algarve ITT, but looking at his Strava ride, you can see that he took 41 of his 58 seconds on the climb. Which means he ''only'' took 17 seconds on Küng on the flat sections. Not sure that'd be enough to beat Ganna, but i think he has a chance.Evenepoel to win today

Wasnt that impressed by Gannas ITT in UAE. I didnt look that deeply at the Algarve ITT, but I think Evenepoel is really good at the pan flat onesAny reason in particular?
