Not just a beast, one of the best race readers / tacticians too
The guy just is so deep, has power that is just dominating.. If I was a pro and showed up to a cyclocross race and saw him, just get back in the car and go to breakfast.. Why bother guy is going to destroy everyone..
Plus when he gets interviewed afterwards he always appears to have just gone grocery shopping or something routine. I find the guy amazing.

So another example why you should play the numbers game. Jorgenson looked strong enough to attack from behind. Wout could do the same because no GC threat.

van aert already seemed pressured at the top of the climb yet they take full responsibility to close it down for a sprint when they had the numbers
Yeah it's ridiculous. Visma are still living in 2020. I think everyone could see he wasn't going to win this stage. He could barely follow Jorgenson on the climb.

I think it would also be good for Van Aert if they quit putting all their eggs in the Wout basket. Now he's just becoming a perennial loser, if he's always waiting for the sprint and never delivering.

The only wheel that was important to Del Toro was Pellizzari and he blew it.. Del Toro should have had Christen spend his juice keeping him closer instead of whatever that was ..not to good. Del Toro got smoked by Ben Healy in the spirit.. Shame..

I dont like when stupid tactics get rewarded.

If they'd won, it wouldn't have been stupid. I'm not advocating the "winner is always right" nonsense but if they had been able to keep things closed and Wout wouldn't have had to fire his bullets on Christen and Ganna and won the sprint, then he would have been fastest and the tactics correct.

Ah, too many ifs, you're probably right.

Past 200 kilometres. Del Toro was rather dead in the end. It doesn't make UAE smarter though.
