I was so tense once it looked like Valgren and Alaphilipe broke away and made it interesting.

Am I alone thinking Carapaz wasn't hurting Valgren's chances?

At least it's good to see Del Torro dominating first class races and not just farming points in smaller races like last season.

No his attack made no difference, Carapaz isn’t in form yet anyway due to the circumstances.
Carapaz attack was everything for Del Toro if EF took first 2 spots he would have to beat the bunch for any time.. Instead he started chasing, looked back for good news gapped everyone but Jorgenson who is further down on GC.. EF raced well all day.. Visma is leaving Jorgenson pretty isolated for a long time.. Bora was good until they weren't.. Good result for Del Toro..

Good for Valgren for the win, otherwise, "do not adjust your set"! Normal service has been resumed with UAE and Del Toro back on the top of the GC pile.

No you're not alone. Carapaz' move was completely fine.

Hypothetically, Del Toro should've even preferred 2nd place boni's being gone if Pellizzari finished 1 spot behind him in the same time.

Carapaz' move spurred Del Toro who showed the Ecuadorian who's the boss in Italy now!

After seeing Pellizzari's form climbing great, getting second in a sprint, Del Toro is super happy with today. He had to think he was going to get worked over.. Roglic looked good also..

Expecting Roglic to close a gap for you is maybe an even dumber decision than Napoleon invading Russia in the winter
Roglic had some good moves in the race and it's encouraging that he made the final selection, sure he couldn't jump away, but then again it's not 2023

Deserved for Jorgenson to ride himself on the podium after crashing in the wheel of MVDP the other day. And certainly after inexplicably being used as a domestique for WVA once again while clearly being the stronger rider at this moment.

Del Toro's overall win seems like a done deal.

I didn't really follow the exact order right before the last separation but Roglic and Pellizzari looked pretty coordinated.. Both guys in good position with Del Toro..

My big take away is how solid Jorgenson looks, Vingegaard doing some good stuff in France..with no Yates and Kuss missing in action, leaning towards UAE but Bora is also looking pretty solid.. Now for the big questions of pecking order, Del Toro is going with Tadej to TDF, what are other teams going to do? Will all the best skip the Giro?
