What a beastly ride by Roglic.

Shame that the GC has basically already been decided by the TTT.

Yeah and Roglic lost another 5 minutes when he was caught behind the crash

So what is the problem with Tirreno that still does not have full results!
Patience. They are still faster then any Belgian or Dutch race (somehow they always take the longest)

But it's more important in a stage race than some Belgian classic where not a lot of people care about more than the top-10.

Lopez lost a lot of time. Will be interesting to see if he bounces back tomorrow.

Lopez again pretty horrendous on explosive climbs and continues the Vuelta trend. Its a bit of a problem I think.

What about Superman Lopez? If this is Landa territory, it's certainly Lopez' as well.
Yeah, but Landa has actually won on very short climbs, the shortest climb Lopez has done well on are Green Mountain and Superga. In the Vuelta last year, he didn't perform very well on the short and sharp climbs throughout the whole race.
He beat Moreno back in 2015 on Pineda de la Sierra.
What are the stats for that climb?

3.75km @ 7.5%

Thanks. Not really comparable to today or the other murs he has done badly on.

Disappointment for Ulissi, Spilak and Meintjes today. Good performance by Roson and Roglic of course

Very much so... +30 seconds is a lot. He should not be losing that much time and especially not to all his rivals like that, in that type of climb. It is tough to take that time back and then be able to put more time into all his rivals.

It really is. It wouldn't surprise me if he won tomorrow, so thats pretty problematic if its not due to bad shape (which it really shouldn't be, chances are it isn't).

On the other hand, there would've been an immediate reaction if Roglic would've been close in GC.

Maybe he just has a problem with digging deep for that 5-10 min period and keeping up with the pace in the short and steep climbs. He cant get into it and gets tired faster than when there is a steady pace and the climb is longer.

It should really suit him... but this trend is pretty weird tbh. Yeah, Im not surprised either if he wins tomorrow.

Our one and only hope would be Keldermann to skyrocket tomorrow or even Jungels but let's be realistic: Sky got that easily.
