I don't think it's impossible, just not very likely. If The Canc's form is brilliant he might be able to do something, but I don't think he's on top form yet.

He should be close to top form his goal race is Ronde van Vlaanderen, 4th april, 3 weeks. The only thing is he might not want to push too hard.

Scarponi for me, he looked strong yesterday, really pulling along that late break. Although given that today is 240km long, maybe his late stage efforts yesterday could cost him some explosiveness on the final climb.

He did look quite strong yesterday, and the profile today should suit him, especially with that final kick at the end of a pretty tough stage. Usually, distance shouldn't be a problem, seeing his stage win in Tirreno last year and one of his Giro stage wins had similar lenghts. Of course, that last outburst of energy towards the end of yesterday's stage could hurt him today, but I doubt it. He'll probably have a great team backing him with the likes of José Serpa and Jackson Rodriguez.
