Was I the only one being very amused by the random Cavendish Retired message that popped up.
As one of our commentators put it:
"We knew that three hours ago!"

And... OUCH!

I don't get Evans intention. Why does a guy, who up to now almost had zero impact to the race and is nowwhere to be seen in GC pull a group for 8th place.

Turns out Thor was also in that group. No idea if Cadel had some kind of hopes of getting Thor back in contention for stage win or what. But no way that would ever happen, as the Nibs group was way up the road.

End of stage racing/skybots/sky win all 3 GTs/boring/blahblahblah

So what happened today then?

We are going to need rain and a selective stage, either cobbles or lots of hills with some 20% gradients in it.
Not a single team can control it and SRM is of no use there.

Hushovd is 9th

That is the most ridiculous result probably

Maybe Evans was pulling to try to bring it all back together for Hushovd--although with the time gaps that seemed an unlikely prospect.

Actual racing happened.

I've never been the biggest Nibali fan, but the guy's got some balls. Well done, Vincenzo.

Lol, I guess it's always fun to be cynical and be proven wrong.
Great racing though, I enjoyed the stage and I think Wiggins must be trembling in fear after watching this

We'll find out soon enough Froome's excuse for failing

Loved it.

This is why descending is a key component of cycling, despite being constantly snubbed these days.

Anybody saying Sky would win all 3 GTs was clearly just caught up in hysteria & not thinking clearly. Had some clown telling me yesterday that they were going to even dominate the classics

Excellent stage, lots of excitement. Credit to Sagan hanging on to the end. Ditto Nibali for taking the lead.

can i just say another great ride by 40something chris horner

Yes, but he show some age in caution on a descent that was the winning move. He won't get that chance again. One to many crashes. The last almost killed him. I you implying the other then take down stairs.

Profile the years raced by Sean Kelly as to Horner. Not much of a difference.

so he wants to go back to the training race model?
When do these guys learn that races at this level must stand on their own two feet.
