Cancellara is the only big GC name who didn't make the winning move as far as I can tell. I'm kind of glad, if he had taken the overall here we would have had to endure another round of "SPARTACUS WILL WIN THE TDF" chat.

Good result for Lars Boom, thought he was here for nothing, now he can ride a nice GC...

Boom has a shot of course.... And a 33km, slightly rolling TT suits him fine...

But can he hang on in the Big Bear stage? I know the climbs aren't steep.... But they are long.

Better long than steep.
Probably won't hang on to Leipheimer and co no, but in the group behind that maybe.

Back to Rabo :)p)...

I was surprised van Winden was able to make the cut (been invisible all season so far), and Martens wasn't. I was hoping Martens would do well and wrap up his slot at the Tour, because he was riding great throughout the early season, and deserves to go....

Van Winden might be one of those riders who is never good in the early season and needs some time to get going, we don't know :D

I am glad I had the giro stage 7 and 8 still lying around. So in anticipation of the small bunch sprint with Sagan, Boom and Lancaster, I was fortunately not forced to watch an overpass and umbrellical chords of people. Fog as thick as mud!

Sagan has quite the acceleration! From the 30s of footage, it looked as if he came from nowhere.

Hopefully the footage is better tomorrow, because the California area is quite spectacular.

Clue me in. Has my man Tommy D. fallen sick yet? Or is he still in there with a shot at a shot of being a contende'?
