Boonen really building up some good form and showing sprinting prowess of old. It would be damn amazing if he managed to win the WC. Rooting for him.

I honestly think he's got a decent chance. Canc almost beat Greipel in Copenhagen 5 years ago, which was also over 260km. That tells you a lot about an actual sprinter like Boonen's chances. Only Cav Sagan and Kristoff are top tier sprinters that are proven over this kind of distance, and even Cav has a question mark next to his name after focusing so much on track

I wouldn't class Degenkolb as a top tier sprinter. If you're going to say Degenkolb, you could start expanding that list to guys like Bouhanni (who is better than big John and probs would have won MSR without that mechnical) Demare etc

But Greipel was the fastest, he came from way behind, and it was an uphill gradient sprint.
Not really comparable.

But each circuit has 1.2km of cobbles too (might be easy cobbles, but might have an effect, you never know) which should be considered

Oh boy, this is so great! Having Boonen and Peter on great shape will surely mean mayhem on those crosswinds!

I'm sorry to hear that, Mayo. If you would like someone to lend an ear, you are more than welcome to PM me. I perfectly understand if you feel that it is harder to talk about as a man, but it does happen to all groups of people and it is not something one should be ashamed about.

Sincerely yours, Netserk.
