If Pogi wins RVV and PR, he got a shot at winning all 5 in the same season.
Let see if he does LBL, as he is only listed for that when it comes to Ardennes as of now.
I can see it being removed depending on what happens in Ronde and PR.
Could be he takes some days off after PR and "just" do Romandie.
We will see.

I doubted him before last year's Vuelta and he took that personally. I am not surprised he was able to follow today, but I wasn't sure he was going to be the only one besides Van der Poel. He had a great chance to win in Sanremo, time will tell if he'll get another one in the future.

wanted the side with shelter , but it seemed to me that it was because his prep overrode what should have been a decision in the moment to secure a clean lane
i was so very gutted that he missed out . ugh
The last 2 seasons he hasn't raced cross, focused more on road and he's happier. That's my take anyway.

Angliru was also just his worst day in the mountains, because he's done much better on 30+ minute climbs.
Great race, the guy won without finishing first, back and forth trades with 2 of the very, very best and he dropped one and had a photo finish with the other. Outstanding job. Sure that first thing Pogacar said was" you are scary strong ".
No chance. He can win LBL with one leg. 19 monuments are in his head.

So no we no longer have to hear what an amazing descender Pidcock is. If he was as great has everyone says, he would have left Pogacar behind on the descent into San Remo. But he followed. I suppose you could argue just poor tactics.

I believe an underrated aspect of descending is that fatigue matters a lot, both mentally and in the ability to sprint out of every corner. Pidcock said he was on the limit at the end of Poggio and he probably needed time to recover. It is very hard to drop a fresher rider even if you're the better descender, unless we're talking Zakarin / Latour level of descending obviously.

Great race from Pidcock. Shame about the sprint, because in general I'd say he has a faster sprint than Pog. But yeah, he got boxed in.
I guess that can happen after almost 300 k's and when you're not a true sprinter though. Anyway, he certainly colored this MSR imo.

Seconded. I've always been "well, maybe" when he's mentioned among the best, but he proved me wrong today.
I really hope he can turn that killer form into a big win soon.

I cant remember the amount of times i came on this forum to say what a talent he is to be knocked by the usual know it all suspects who maintained he is over rated ... the hell he is...he just wasnt concentrating on the road till recently

While 'overrated' surely is an exaggeration, he does lack consistency.
His form can be all over the place, great one day, disappointing the next. But when he's good, he's really very good.

No matter what ..Tadej played same predictable hand..., have one or two teammates do a lead out train to the base of the hill and go full gas until a gap opens up.
Thom was not to be shaken.. To lose to multiple TDF champion, current World Champion by a whisker, not bad in my opinion.
Pogacar suddenly being chased around by mountain bike guru and some teenage French phenomenon.. He has to wonder if blood is in the water..
Likely over in one of the many varieties of anti UAE threads, few will mention Pidcock's super human uphill efforts, also probably not mention that most elite MTB events that Thom shows up to and is a factor for no other reason than switching bikes, he did few gravel races, switched bikes and got a top ten at worlds..
Guy is just a great bike racer..
Would he have been just this good if he stayed with Ineos? My opinion is he is reborn on Q36..
