This is among the best performance of TM in climbs.

Also, i think he is a bit leaner now. Maybe he cant handle multiple attacks, but he is certainly riding with the likes of Kreu.

He was only dropped with 1-1.5 km from the summit. today's stage is going to be a revelation!!!

I certainly hope he will keep this up for the rest of the year and into 2015, but based on past history that's unlikely

2 steep sections today, but the first comes just before 2-3 pretty flat kms, and the 2nd comes within 3km of the finish. Based on today I can't see anyone there who is going to make it kick off enough for Frank or Costa to take a full minute on him unless he blows up badly on the first steep section (which I don't expect).

Odds on favourite.

The route has been perfect for the Panzerwagen so far.

No doubt he came with a mission.

And most climbers are overrated anyway.

Anyway today's stage will be the most difficult to control for Martin and his team.

Looking forward to it.

When Canc won the TdS the route was quite different.

My point is he does not have to be a great climber to win this race. The best riders for GC were at the Dauphine and no one attacked Martin until near the top of the climb at least of the GC riders.

Vino attacks everyone said:
step 1: Sign for Sky
Step 2: loose 5 kg, and keep his current power output
Step 3: Become the new Indurain

If he doesn't sign with Sky, I'm okay with that plan!

He rides more like Ullrich.

Ulrich did great in GC.

That aside, TM did great in this TdS. What a ride by him. and he came 4th in GC.

He just earned 72 UCI points.

With a normal team not that ****ing train they bring in every time, maybe Martin could have won this one.Great ride non the less.

Martin's reaction to defeat is an example. Really humble guy, I'll be cheering for him in July again.

Great ride for Tony, this guy is a machine.Maybe he should try at least for one year a GC ride in a GT,if Wiggo could do it,Martin should do it better:)

He is a little smaller than Wiggins....I guess if he put his mind to it he could be similar to Wiggo....his biggest problem would be that they don't often have a course like 2012.

Didn't like him in the beginning (because I am a fan of Cance and he was an obvious rival). But I must say that over the past couple of years I have really grown to like him. Really humble and nice guy, I hope he will be given the freedom in the future because he really has the abilities to do incredible things like he did today.

Nice ride - watched him fail gloriously in final K in vuelta last year, great to see this one stick.

Good to see a TTer show the strengths that can bring to a GT in the group stages as well as the specialist individual TTs.

I think he is doing Algarve as well no?
I would like to see him in San Remo. If he has the distance in the legs he could be a funny rider to go in bold moves.
