lol, Jens, why you stick to Wiggins so much? Ricco, Di Luca, Vino..., and Wiggins. something is wrong

well i still hate some of his interviews
the only problem i have is that unlike those from above,he's not an attacker...but things will change this july

Winning the prologue plus the first stage is understandably quite rare. I think I have found two examples, however:

Was 1976 Freddy Maertens' first Tour? If so, he won the Prologue and the first stage that year.

The same goes for Charlie Grosskost in 1968. (They were called stages 1a and 1b, but 1a was a short time trial, so I count it as a prologue.)

Gilbert will ride a good time here, since he's supposed to peak for the Tour.

If he doesn't, well he probably won't win anything this season.

For the win

Cancellara vs Wiggins vs Martin vs Sagan

Gilbert???
Top 20 maybe but nothing more.
But recently he has had a few encouraging interviews and has said that he feels very good.
And is looking forward for the belgian nationals.

Actually was not Milalr too?

Zabriskie won his first tour stage as well (in 2005 where there was no prologue but stage 1 was a 19 km TT).

Also add Alex Rasmussen non-starters.

the course seems too technical for likes of martin and overall favourites probably wont go 100% because it might be dangerous around corners

so we need explosive cyclist, with good bikehandling skills and balls big enough to cut corners full speed - hard to look past sagan and fabian

Yeah good time for him I forgot to add, top-20 should be expected if he wants to win a stage.

What? But Gilbert rides for BMC now. Surely that means he should finish top 9... with merely the other 8 BMC riders in front of him?

bahahahaha just yanking your chain

1. Wiggins His form is to good right now.
2. Cancellera
3. Sagan
4. Martin
5. Larrson
6. Gretsch
7. Grivko
8. Evans
9. Martin Elmiger
10. Sylvain Chavanel

Other possible contenders:

Tejay Van Garderen
Laurens ten Dam
David Zabriskie
Anthony Roux
Edvald Boasson Hagenk
Gerald Ciolek
Levi Leipheimer
Maxime Monfort
Tylar Farrar
Thomas Lövkvist
Chris Froome
David Millar
Tony Gallopin
Fredrik Kessiakoff
Levi Leipheimer

My question is this course to technical for Rogers, Zabriske or Leipheimer? I am guessing they lack the explosion for this course.

He did come in 13th on a very technical Tour De Suise prologue. Maybe your right and he should not be on my list of possible top 10 contenders. But it was a pretty broad list. In regards to the prologue at this point I don't feel to comfortable with who might contend. Which is why I am loving this thread.

1. Wiggins
2. Cancellera
3. Engoulvent
4. Sagan
5. Martin

I think Engoulvent will be dangerus and get a podium place. The course suit him. Chavanel, Kessiakoff, EBH will fight for place 6-8. And last three top ten spots migth go to; Monfort, Grivko, Millar.

Not a course best suited for Dave Z. Leipheimer needs some steady gradients to really shine. Rogers will be instructed to save energy for domestique duty.

I don't think Rogers will have to save energy, they'll want as many guys as possible up there on GC, in true US Postal fashion.

Has there ever been such an amount of great Prologe riders?
It's crazy how many good Prologers we have right know, especially with all those young guys coming up.
