It can’t have happened too often that someone won two professional events in the same city in the same season, but in entirely separate races.

would make a good thread. there'll be occasions where classic Tirreno stages have popped up in the Giro for example, or PN stages in the Tour

But Contador messed up in 2010... There has indeed often been a Dauphiné stage as a rehearsal.

So the best example must be Tony Martin winning the exact same ITT in both the Dauphiné and the Tour in 2011.

Luís Ocaña won stages into San Sebastián in both the 1969 Vuelta a España and Vuelta al País Vasco. The former was an ITT, the latter a road stage.

Joaquím Rodríguez managed to quite spectacularly come 2nd in very close finishes at the Alto de Arrate in both País Vasco (to Samuel Sánchez) and the Vuelta (to Alejandro Valverde) in 2012 too.

I thought for Gilbert on Cauberg would be one, but it turns out the year he won Valkenburg world’s (2012) was one of the times he didn’t win Amstel in his 5-6 year stretch of Amstel titles.

Lorena Wiebes was sort of close to doing it last year, although the Ronde van Drenthe doesn't finish on the top of VAM-berg.

Emma Johansson won on the Amstel Gold Race circuit in both the 2014 Holland Hills Classic and Holland Ladies Tour, and Vos did it in the 2012 Ladies Tour before wining the Worlds title there two weeks later (she "only" finished 2nd in the Hills Classic that year).

Oscar Sevilla is off to hospital after a crash with 500m to go. The result lists him with +0:11, but as last, behind the guys which finished 40 minutes down, so his race is most likely over
What a bummer. Sounds like the end of the race for him, but hopefully not his career.

Sevilla has a fracture in the "Arco Costal". That's spanish for "costal arch in the thorax". Hopefully not that bad that He can come back to competition.

Would be so sad to see a career come to an end so young.

Gaviria wouldn't shake Cavendish's hand after the finish.
Gaviria was happy about it two years ago when the shoe was on the other foot though.

But it’s great both have been able to get a win. Especially how we thought Gaviria was going to blow up more at the time.

Come on Nairoman! (or Lutsenko - if he can win on Babadag then this should be easy peasy!)

Doesn't seem to steep at the moment but should be around 6% all the way to the finish pretty much right?
