Porte can't climb.
He should be able to climb well enough to help a little when the bunch still has, say, 40-50 people. He was nowhere to be seen, probably saving energy for today. Truth be told, at times it looked like Saxo sucked AND were saving energy.

He would lose. He needs to open his mouth to gulp in all that air which he uses as fuel for his engine

He keeps his mouth open like a big mouth bass, but I guess he gets the results, so that's what matters.

Ok ...its the 29 minute mark of the 4th quarter at the MCG on that one day in September .... your team is 5 points down and you have marked the ball on the 50 metre line on a slight angle ..now think ..... Cadel Evans is in this same position tonight on the international stage ......... Kick it straight through the big uprights Cadel !!!!!!!!!

Apparently Cancellara was unable to see the track before riding it, because they arrived far too late at the start for that. Might mean Andy has yet to see it too.

I was just about to say the opposite! I'm bummed that Colnago decided to go the route of sourcing cheap frames from China.

The colours looked good on the bike anyway.

Actually he some sort of device and was blowing air or liquid in Contador's face. Folks should have remembered AC swinging on those guys on Verbier who got too close. He's not one to be trifled with when he's on the bike.

God. Even more obnoxious. No wonder he got a fist in the face. That avatar comes back just as soon as Cadel's victory party winds down.

Agreed. But what really bums me out is Italy's loose rules regarding that stuff: If it's painted or decaled in Italy, they're allowed to call it "Made in Italy." Which means, that everything bearing the made in Italy sticker (for which you pay a premium) is suspect.

Chapeau to Richie for what he said.

Asked how great beating Cancellara was, he said that the course didnt suit Cancellara that Cancellara did a lot of work in the mountains, and he didnt, so it didnt mean that much.

What grace class.

Looks like Contadors class rubs off on all of Saxo.

De Gendt is killing it. Sorry. He pipped him. It looked like he was winning by 0'15" not 0'01"
