Never came back from the crash.

Did you see how early Greipel went and from how far back? That was a very impressive sprint and he showed good instincts considering his position. Cav is the best by far, but he had this one wrapped up and presented to him on a platter by his train.

sorry?

didn't you even saw cav looking at him, controlling him, and finishing one bike-lenght ahead of him? yes he tried. cudos for him. who was first? greipel or petachi? both of them one bike behind.

Don't think I've seen or heard his name mentioned what with Wiggins and all. Assumed he was still in the front group.

It did seem like Wiggins crashed alone and was the only important rider in the race according to Eurosport.

Funny old game.

Yesterday Sky win stages in two different races and have a rider in the white jersey. 24 hours later and they lose their team leader and their white contenders lose 3 minutes as well.

If Cav didn't realize there was a crash, it's possible Leaopard didn't realize that Wiggo was hurt when they supposedly "hammered."

I thought it was beautiful work by HTC.

Greipel probably could have won that though if Gilbert had worked for him but it wasn't going to happen with Phil in the points jersey.

Rubbish, 3km-1km to go Gilbert was up there in the wind with Lotto riders behind him.

Some serious hugging between Cav and Martin. Great footage!

You can say what you want about Cav, but he certainly is a leader that shows his gratitude toward his teammates.

Leipheimer made it back to the second group FWIW. Looks like about 30 riders finished behind the second group though.

anti cav anti contador without a single valid argument.
your view is disturbed.

Greipels sprint had to be almost twice as long as Cavs due to his team...

I do not disrespect Cav. He is the best sprinter in the world having the best sprint train in the world. I don't like his press statements, but who cares.

BTW: Of course I disrespect AC, but the reasons are obvious and discussed in depth at the clinic.

Disturbed view? C'mon. Don't get personal

Hopefully it lifts his spirits and he can gain some confidence from this.
Gesink definitely looked stronger than yesterday, even sprinted to the front by himself at some point. What I don't like is that with so many guys at the front, Rabo didn't even try to do do something, echelon-wise. But maybe that was a little too much for Bobby G.

Don't worry, Dim. I'm sure EBH has another stage win in his legs. It is a shame to see Wiggins go out with the form he's got, but maybe he can carry it through to the Vuelta.

Green jersey standings:

Rojas 167
Gilbert 156
Cavendish 150
Hushovd 130
Feillu 99
Evans 98
Greipel 78
Farrar 76
Hinault 60
Galimzyanov 55

Cav closed the gap right down today but Rojas will probably pull away over the more hilly stages to come.

cav won so easy... and he had sprinted 20km earlier unlike his oponents.

really. no one stood a chance.

he does not win because of his train.. he wins because he is by far the most explosive and the fastest. the train just makes it very easy.

Wiggins was the leading GC contender of the people who crashed, even if some people were looking forward to him failing in the mountains.

Yeh really sad day. Specially for Sky, but same for the other GC contenders that lost time. Leipheimer, Hesjedal and Horner. I'm no fan of Leipheimer, but this just sucks. The first time loss in stage 1 sucked and now this. bleh.
