Why does Garmin-Cervelo ride now and not helping OPL before??

Is it because there is only 3 breakaway riders now?
Is it to save the Yellow jersey by letting the breakaway get away with ~1minute so as to not encourage attacks on the last climb.

It is a pretty lame tactic in my opinion, but hey, it's Vaughters.. he knows what he is doing to save the sport

I don't think they thought Hushovd was capable of getting over the climbs. No point setting tempo on the climbs and putting Thor out the back was there?
