Sylvester said:You seem to be a member of the July crowd. Have you been following cycling before? Real connoisseurs know all the best races are decided by uphill bunch sprints and won by Cadel Evans with Hincapie in second, Santaromita in third, Schär in fourth and Morabito in fifth place. Contador, who must lose eight seconds, should also be grimacing so the BMC effort looks even more impressive. Cadel must take the polka dots, the green jersey and of course the yellow jersey in the process. He should also win the Vittel Combativity Award, the Special Prize for Dog Owners, and the award for best post-race interview, awarded by the French Union of Journalists. Daniele Righi must finish outside of the time limit.
Other good races include the Swiss TT championships and all races in which Greg Van Avermaet takes part — he might win points jerseys.
Breakaways are boring.
Ferminal said:So, there is actually a race for the break going on this time, 20.8km down at 46kmh.
Midnightfright said:I think this shows you the peloton is expecting it too stay away.
YoRUsh said:Correct me if im wrong, but I thought his handlebars broke of causing him to crash?
Ferminal said:Yeh, no one wants to miss it. But if they keep this up they will all be knackered by the time they make it.
26.7km @ 48kmh

. And is there something wrong with being a big fan of a particular team so now everyone has to be neutral towards everyteam. supporting a team is what makes it fun lol. and the reason i prefer the peleton racing for the win rather than the break is that we get to see the main contenders battling it for the win and not just trying to get seconds from one another.
Woody22 said:Van Garderen mentioned that he will try for the break again today. Would the peloton let him go?

On Dutch TV. "I don't think today will be a problem, I have no worries of reaching the finish line. The second part of the Tour you will see a different Robert Gesink"
RdBiker said:Is Garmin prepared to let the jersey go?
Midnightfright said:I reckon starting at this rate is really bad news for Gesink hope of surviving till the rest day I wouldn't be at all surprised if he lost several minutes unfortunately
