Yeah, poor little guy. I'd say that's just what happens if your qualities (or lack of) as a rider require the peloton's mercy or stupidity for you to get a win in the Tour.
Firstly, I know less about Bauer, but Elmiger has a pretty useful palmarès.

Secondly, here, the break is the underdog, the bunch is the favourite. Or are you one of those people who like to root for the favourite?

Best massprint finale so far.

Exciting last 15km with the top hardman sprinter coming out the winner. Again.

Too bad about the lack of wind. Could, would, should.

Porte only lost 16 seconds in the end. Think Nieve came in with Jrod at 12 minutes?

No, it was Lopez

I like to root for my favourite rider-type.

Kristoff is an incredible horse, in form of his career. San Remo wasn't a fluke.

Sagan was the fastest, poor ******* decided follow Kittel's wheel. Ended up sprinting over 7 riders in last 100m.

What's up with Greipel?

Good win for Kristoff, with his double he just saved Purito's Tour:D Surprised that Kittel failed, probably is spent after the mountains.

He lacks the Bouhanni mentality.

How the **** didn't Bauer get most combative rider? He was clearly the one pulling the hardest and not just waiting for the sprint.

Thought it was going to be a horribly boring stage but the finish ended up being the best bunch of the tour so far. Incredible suspense and pretty heartbreaking for the two ahead. But Kristoff is majestic.

Poor Sagan. After the crazy impulsiveness before, he has surprisingly been really sensible in these last two non-mountain rides. Like almost everyone here, he expected Kittel to power through at the end. Just not an ounce of luck.

The irony of this "losing" streak is that he'll surely demolish both his previous points totals, but likelier and likelier with no win.
