Mark Renshaw abandons huge lost for the lead out for Cavendish in Paris

What happened to Cav, he's been ninja like quiet this year.
He wasn't quiet in the first week. He won a stage and got some top 5 finishes. Cav is always ninja like in the mountains...

Cav's also getting older and peaked years ago.

So is anyone going to give Giant **** chasing the break, helping sky, protecting Barguil's top 10 place like you all did Movistar?

Two different situations tactically. If Barguil were to attack, I doubt Sky would care since he isn't much of a threat to the maillot jaune. If Movistar is to be believed, they are still fighting for the maillot jaune, but their actions yesterday looks like a team trying to defend their podium positions. Tactically I thought the smarter move was to either attack WITH Contador or force Sky to chase (even if you sacrifice Valverde's top 3 position) and put pressure on Sky to chase (and thereby burn up G and others). Instead they ride down Contador and end up with a fresh Froome at the end of the stage netting zero gain for the day. Froome is too strong to think a one off attack is going to work IMO

Sky had two men up the road to act as anchors if that happened.

and until that gap was closed (or those guys dropped back), Froome would have had to chase (and burn energy and become more vulnerable). All theoretical, but imo a better tactic than chasing down other attacks and then putting in minor attacks 1K from the summit.

Not enough to control at the front, unless he latches onto the back of someone else's train. As he did to win at Fougères. It's still possible to win but his chances are greatly reduced.

How many trains there will be in Paris? Etixx, Giant, Lotto?

Wait, why would you think the people who criticized Movistar yesterday would be OK with Giant today?

Perhaps throw in Sagan into the mix, he is desperate for a win, maybe he will take more risks than usual.

:p none arrive on time either

Trek and Giant can **** right off.

Why? You rather see Sky taking it easy again and giving the break 15' or so?

Couldnt give two *** about the GC today. Nothing will happen in the GC.
I was looking forward to seeing who out this breakaway will triumph.
Now if this break comes back there will be a pathetic finish.

Timmer, Curvers and De Kort chasing breaks with 88 km to go. What is this, the World Ports Classic?

Maybe Kittel thinks he can win today, but why would he use his train so early?

I'm glad yesterday was disapointing because it has tempered my expectations for these 3 alpe stages. Will just tune in from time to time to see if anything happened.
