I'm gonna agree with the Norwegian commentators. Fuglsang should be allowed to go home to his newborn daughter.
He's not being held against his will.

His team is in Yellow, as a rider he wants to be there at the end if at all possible.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if Vino made him an offer he couldn't refuse... :D

I don't think he is compelled by his team to stay. This guy is tough: seeing Aru taking yellow must have given him extra motivation to try to hang on and participate to the team effort.
I agree that him staying is pointless now, but it seems to be his own choice.

I never usually have the opportunity to watch the start of stages. I am really appreciating how difficult it is just to form a break.
(Yes, I am aware that the the parcours and date of the stage increase the difficulty)

FDJ's tour is looking duller and duller each day. Hopefully Pinot will wake up in the 3rd week.

Give him full respect for at least trying.....I'm sure he's not being forced to ride today.

Oh, I fully respect his decision, and I guess it probably is his own to make. Just hope he is making the right one given the circumstances!

But I agree, he deserves respect for giving all he has :)

What's the situation with QS sponsorship?
Has Lefevre stated anything official, or it stayed on the article couple of days before the Tour?

Fuglsang, what a beast. I hope he can get though this stage.
Agree. Warrior..I hope he's taken some good pain meds and is just gonna muscle it out.
Not a long stage at all, so hoping he gets there.

The Tour website seem to have revamped their "Live Centre" page and done away with the virtual leaderboards.

Col de Latrape must be the worlds easiest 1st cat. climb. 5,6 km at 7,3%. I recall it as a 2nd cat. in 2004.

Everything looked like a Category 2 back then...
