Has Matthews ever won an uphill sprint? Except for the four-man sprint against Evans, Wellens and Rabottini back in the 2014 Giro?

Last Tour de Suisse to Bern? Although last 300 meters were flat.

Wasn't it more like the last kilometer? My point is, however, that he hasn't really won any puncheur finishes in his career. He is my favourite for today, nonetheless, even though it is really even between him and GvA.

Well, he won this stage in la Vuelta in 2014:

I would definitely call that an uphill sprint.

Thanks, I had forgotten the circumstances of that win! Now I am more calm with having picked him as the captain of my fantasy team ;)

I just rewatched it. It's hard to believe that both Sagan and Valverde were in that race! They were absolutely nowhere to be seen on a finish with a climb of about a kilometre.

Dan Martin to try something? The finish suits him pretty well.

Don't think it's steep enough for Martin today tbh.

It's as steep as Mur De Huy but less than half the length.

As you say, the Mur is 3 times as long. This 500 meter climb is not tough enough for him (in theory).

Plus, he said yesterday he's still not able to stand on his pedals to sprint so...

I think it fits him quite splendidly but he is having trouble standing in the pedals, which obviously is a big disadvantage in a finish such as this.

He'll give it a bash that's for sure... He tried the other day on a much steeper finish, when he was in much more pain.

I don't know, his back is hurting too much. Check the link below, scroll down to see the video, he can hardly walk

I know, but when he was interviewed this morning he said he felt way better yesterday (even though he could hardly walk) than he did the day before... And he still attacked the day before.

Does anyone have an English stream with the Aussies that's accessible from OS? (VPN is fine, but the Skoda app isn't available in my country, and to log in on computer they want too many details.). I think I have a non-Kirby stream at the moment, with the other Brits, if all else fails!
