Has Matthews ever won an uphill sprint? Except for the four-man sprint against Evans, Wellens and Rabottini back in the 2014 Giro?

Last Tour de Suisse to Bern? Although last 300 meters were flat.

Wasn't it more like the last kilometer? My point is, however, that he hasn't really won any puncheur finishes in his career. He is my favourite for today, nonetheless, even though it is really even between him and GvA.

I just rewatched it. It's hard to believe that both Sagan and Valverde were in that race! They were absolutely nowhere to be seen on a finish with a climb of about a kilometre.

It's as steep as Mur De Huy but less than half the length.

I think it fits him quite splendidly but he is having trouble standing in the pedals, which obviously is a big disadvantage in a finish such as this.

It's as steep as Mur De Huy but less than half the length.

As you say, the Mur is 3 times as long. This 500 meter climb is not tough enough for him (in theory).

Plus, he said yesterday he's still not able to stand on his pedals to sprint so...

I know, but when he was interviewed this morning he said he felt way better yesterday (even though he could hardly walk) than he did the day before... And he still attacked the day before.
