Some people had doubts that Sagan could win the green jersey now Kittel was on fire. But if Matthews can threaten Kittel, than certainly Sagan can. He would have won the jersey again IMO.

Due to the dominance of Sagan I forgot how good Matthews actually is. He is doing great.

I suppose if he thinks he can hang with De Gendt on the Croix then as long as he isn't working hard he might as well keep going.

Though the points that are now "purely" for Matthews to grab would be split among him and Sagan. Kittel might as well end up with even bigger gap then. (providing he would be equally dominant on those flat stages)
