barguil rode a fantastic race, but he already has the polka dot. I think de gendt or contador should have won and rasmussen makes a good point.

No. Not at all disappointing. What did De Gendt actually accomplish with his breakaways? **** all except log lots of kms in the break. His best stage placement is like 46th or something. Barguil won stages, made some memorable rides and truly animated the race. He was the most attack minded climber in the race. I guess De Gendt was somewhat in the running for the polka dot jersey, but he was never really close to winning.

I think you've missed the point of the super combative prize

Whoever targets a jersey should not win it?

Combativity should have a points system like the other jerseys.

For many years KOM was won by long range attacks and not necessarily stage wins or the best climber in the race.

Sean Kelly won his green jerseys by going for every sprint point he could but he did not manage a lot of stage wins.
