Only Valverde and Landa were in the front group, so there was no one who could wait.

Benatti, Amador and Erviti were still there

So it seems that Benatti, Amador and Erviti dropped back. It not captured on video

Only Landa and Valverde finished in the front group from Movistar. Amador and Bennatti came in with Quintana
Some posters need to get their facts right

For Quintana there should have been a teammate right on his wheel. Crazy. It doesn't help that there's 8 riders/team now instead of 9.

Quintana had Benatti and Amador with him as he finished so there goes yall logic

Aye he would have lost alot more time if he was left on his own, only lost 23 seconds to Froome at al, and he was still getting the super slow neutral service wheel change when they went by.

2011 TDF: Big favourite who dominated previous Tours and is just coming off winning the Giro. Doping controversy about previous GT win leads to him being booed at the start. Lots of crashes in first stage which leads to big favourite losing time.

2018 TDF: same thing

Froome and Porte losing time effectively neutralises the TTT.

Sky will take about 1.5 - 2.5 mins from Bahrain, AG2R, Katusha, EF etc.
So not quite yet but it has definitely done some of that work.

Quintana could be 1.5mins+ behind Thomas or TGV after the TTT

things are looking interesting. Love seeing Majka 10th when they showed the stage classif. but I think they adjusted the times afterwards

Cavendish shown as having been dropped with about 8km remaining and making no effort to catch up, and now shown as 36th, same time as Gaviria. So if they have him wrong, it is possible that reports of some of the GC guys being in that group are also unreliable.
