Gaviria and Greipel both relegated.
Greipel, seriously? Don't see what he did wrong?

Greipel hasnt been relegated for this.
Its for the headbutt.

Just like with Gaviria trying for a gap that wasn’t there on his inside, this looks to me like Greipel just defending his spot on the wheel. I’d need to see the action either side of this to be clear, but he looks more wronged than wrong here to my eyes.

I thought Greipel was a nice guy but maybe the pressure to get a result got to him.
Greipel should have just kept looking straight ahead and concentrated on following third wheel, Arndt was not going to be able to muscle his way in there anyway. Trying to shove Arndt away was unnecessary, and tactically kind of a dumb move by Greipel as well. It was not a really egregious one, but he deserves the relegation because of the head movement to bump Arndt, that was very intentional

I agree that in general Greipel is a class-act cyclist, even when he believes he has been wronged

"Please excuse me"

Polite and modest considering he is one of the most physically powerful cyclists ever, Greipel's power profile is just amazing

Gaviria had clear space ahead of him ... Greipel came across him trying to get Sagan's wheel and might have caused a crash had Gaviria not barged him back.

They should have issued warnings only and get on with it. I don't think that neither was bad. That happens a lot in sprints.
Sagan has to win that green jersey though. It is good for business after all... ;)
Are you suggesting they relegated Gaviria to help Sagan in the green jersey competition? Why would they throw him out last year and now help him? That doesn't make any sense.

I'm hoping Craddock can get through the stage just so they can go into the rest day and re evaluate and see exactly where he is and then make a determination on what to do.
It's impressive he's still in there.

But a rest day and then they can consider if it makes any sense to stay in the race. It's not going to be easy tomorrow and then we have the mountains.

Er, they realise they done f&*ked up (esp. $-wise) last year?
In other words, it would make the most sense ever?

(Although I don't think it's the reason, suggesting it doesn't make sense is pure fantasy)
