The difference between stage 6 and stage 14 is that a week of racing has passed + the fact, that Tourmalet is longer than Superplanche. These things should not work in Alaphilippe's favor, rather the opposite!
Doesn't look like Ala's form on decline - judging from what I've seen yesterday.

We will find out today, when the big GC favorites drop the hammer on a real mountain.

I am rooting for him, but I still don't quite believe he can ride like that for 3 weeks.

His form in decline? Probably not, no. But I will be tremendously surprised, if he doesn't pay for riding crazy fast the last two weeks - he isn't a GC rider and specialist in recovery, after all.
