World rankings pretty meaningless actually. He was a major dud in the worlds a couple years ago. Sure he’s won a few stages here and there but like Pinot has never lived up to expectations.
How about using the CQ ranking (which I agree on being better): 2nd in 2019, 5th in 2018.

I get tired just watching Alaphilippe
Too much focus on theatrics
Agree it’s annoying but a lot of professional sport is the carnival/entertainment aspect. I think I’d rather be annoyed at it than not have it at all, especially the way some of this Tour has gone

Yeah, something's offputting about him to me. Making faces, twitching around on the bike when descending, attacking to show off, not to win. The Voeckler comparison seems accurate to an extent, although of course Alaphillipe is a much better rider.

At least that's Gesink down...

Times rapidly running out if Superman had any thoughts on using Izagirre as a bridge

It's nothing yet because a) Rogla ain't even waving his upper body, very relaxed b) WvA is still hanging around c) Alaphilippe sips drink from the bottle when doing his turn in front. Finally Carapaz dumps Alaphilippe.

Actually Bilbao and Caruso were really good yesterday. Should be able to reduce the group quite significantly.

If Carapaz wants even the most minimal chance of winning this, he's got to drop his companions soon and hard imo.
