That is still a scary team indeed. Quite logical regarding Froome and G performances lately tbf.

Thomas will do the Giro, Froome the Vuelta. Egan is being communicated as to being the sole leader here. Not too sure if Richie will be too happy with this.
One thing is the justification needed at present not to take Froome and Thomas, but surely Carapaz will also do the Giro, no?

As of yet, no communication in regards to Richie's participation in the Giro. That said, INEOS communicated this bomb as ''3 different leaders, 3 different Grand Tours''. While it's a rather big and quick jump to conclusions, it allows room for thought and interpretation.

Dave B said in his video annoucement something like : that they worked out a plan which won't be the same as usual, and then a little smile...

the psychological warfare with Jumbo has begun

I think the time between is just too short to make that doable.

So, there will be just one previous winner of the race on the start line, and that guy has only won one edition. That must certainly be a rarity.

Very good decision by Ineos. This squad is not weaker without Froome and Thomas, but surely more motivated and hungry of success. We may see interesting tactical use of Carapaz. I think there will be no typical "Sky-train" this year.

No previous winner started in 2006 as we were robbed of the Ulle-Basso showdown. No previous winner who stood on top of the podium in Paris started in 2007 and 2008.

I think it was a necessary decision, I don't think the "let the road decide who is leader" is a good strategy, never worked for Movistar as well. I am not sure how it will work for Jumbo visma s well.

I know it happened in the weird post-Armstrong era, I just said that it must be a rare occurrence.

2011 also only had one previous winner at the start. Same in 2012. In 2002 Armstrong was the only previous winner. No previous winner was at the start in 1999. It really isn't that unusual.

Sh*t boys, looks like Ineos aren't messing about anymore. Hoping they don't make it six in a row.

TJV broke them. These are desperation moves and the most likely outcome is that they are messing up two big races instead of just one
