Why do DQS block in front ?
Their best interest is a very high average speed, because no way they will be dropped on the flat, and with high avg, the time limit is much higher.
If they go super slow until the climb with a very small break, the time limit will be low, but they will drop the same in the last climbs.

Wiggins saying echelons possible looool
Seriously, who's hired Wiggins & Voigt as experts? Their fully incapable to fulfill this role as their tactical insight and ability to read a race is zero. You know exactly why Wiggins relied upon a train and especially why Voigt didn't do anything else during his career than either attack or work at the front of the peloton if your hear their prognostications.

Voigt of course is much worse than Wiggins. Eurosport basically needs a second expert, because of his shortcomings. And for that horse crap they degraded Leclercq, unbelievable!

its just the "it" thing in television last few years, instead of hiring television people, you hire former athletes en masse, many of whom are intelectually challenged at best and their only contribution is saying cliches

that being said wiggo on a bike is quite funny, much more than eisel who is just bland and forgetable...you rarely find a gem of a former athlete turned tv caster who is good like charles barkley, i also like sean kelly and not just for his misspronounciations

I want to believe they're hired as comedians

If there is no drama in the race, then they are there to create the drama and theatrics and historinics. They are not there to provide "Expert Opinion"

Leclercq with his anecdotes and knowledge of a lot of things outplayed Voigt exactly in that matter. Additionally to his expertise and tactical insight. He's also nice to listen to as he's linguistically sterling!

Sometimes it feels like Eurosport's cycling coverage has become some sort of covert advertising for certain brands. Of course Leclercq doesn't fit in there anymore.
