funny how I got jumped on for saying Roglic was "bodychecked" and then Roglic goes and uses the same exact words.

it was pretty clear from the replay shown on TV (NBC showed it about 4 times so maybe that was why it was so clear to me), there was not much to decipher from that. Cobrelli moves over and then Roglic goes flying off the side of the road.

Roglic just said he got hit by Colbrelli - which Colbrelli's statement confirms - and Roglic did not claim intent.

That is simply not true.

Watch the video you posted, and focus on the white helmet to Colbrelli's right - and you will suddenly realise, that his public statement is correct, and you are dramatising it unnecessarily.

Well, maybe he said he was bodychecked, and maybe he even tweeted this. But as his tweet is retracted, it seems that either Roglic or Jumbo also don't want more drama than necessary.

The white helmet doesnt move left until Roglic is on the ground so unless there is someone small between him and Cobrelli that we can't see, whoever is the white helmet didn't make Cobrelli move left.

Anyway it happened. Roglic isn't pursuing any action to my knowledge so I'm done with it. Hopefully Roglic recovers enough so it isn't just a Pogi walkover after 3 stages.

But Colbrelli will never be a favorite of mine (as if he cares).

It is completely evident, that there is movement to the right of Colbrelli, which makes him move left.

It is absolutely plausible that his statement is 100 % true - and you trying to make it something else - with zero evidence, is honestly pretty low.

I think it’s important to make a distinction in which crashes are caused by course design versus rider error or natural bike racing. A steep winding downhill at the end of a sprint stage is probably fair to blame, but most of the crashes so far this tour seem to not be due to course design. I also second the person who said field size is part of the problem. Having 184 riders wheel to wheel creates a lot more congestion than 120 or 140. It’s really unfortunate that almost all the big hitters and teams have been uprooted so far, but if you look into the details a lot of it has nothing to do with course design.

So maybe taking times at 10k is a valid solution for sprint stages. It would also solve the issue of 'too many riders' by allowing the GC teams to sit back and let the sprint trains have at it.

No 10k rule for hilly or murito stages, just the obvious sprints. Not going to solve everything but it will increase rider safety, have zero negative bearing on the GC battle so why not. Are there really any examples of GC gaps being made in the last 10k of a sprint stage outside of crashes or mechanicals?

It might sound stupid and crazy to 'end the racing' with 10k to go but does it really have a negative impact on the spectator experience? I dont think so.

Focus on him, and you will see him move together with Colbrelli.

It's a chain reaction across the peloton - not Colbrelli suddenly deciding to take out Roglic on purpose.
