Stage 6: Tours – Châteauroux, 160.6 km
Yet another flat stage. There are a lot of exposed sections – indeed, the race passes over the exact same road where Quick-Step started the carnage that was the 2013 stage to Saint-Amand-Montrond – but it looks like the wind won't blow tomorrow.

Not much to discuss. ASO have found an excuse to hand out mountain points at the Côte de Saint-Aignan, a glorified false flat.
The intermediate sprint comes shortly after the aforementioned exposed road, which tells us that ASO were indeed banking on echelons.
Final kilometers
The final 4.0 kilometers are identical to the last stage finishing in Châteauroux (in 2011), another one won by Mark Cavendish, however some of the road layouts have changed significantly since. This roundabout at 4.0 kilometers to go didn’t exist then…
…and neither did the next one, 600 meters on:
There’s another roundabout 200 meters after that:
From there, it’s a pretty straightforward route with an easy left-hander at 2.2 kilometers out, an easy right hander 600 meters past it, and then a wide, straight shot to the finish line.
