More than anything this is a rehearsal for Pogačar's rivals... what can be done against UAE.
And I don't think the UAE team's handling this the best.
Hit the panic button without a good reason.

they need a rider like Luke Rowe
Another like Rohan Dennis
Someone like Mohoric

And someone like Richie Porte

Their riders are good climbers but not necessarily good Doms

Even if I doubt he's a real threat, you'd be pretty dumb to gift WVA a big chunk of time at this stage - who knows how long he can hang on if the team rides for him.

Similarly while he's almost certainly not a threat it would be stupid to gift Nibali a route back into the race. It's just an extra complication to have someone who could cause problems in otherwise calmer areas within a threatening distance, particularly when your team is not the strongest.

There's a bunch of guys in there who if given 10 minutes could put up a hell of a fight to be brought back again. Nibali, Ruben Guerreiro, Mohoric, Bakelants, and Van Aert for example.

And who the *** knows about MVP? He says he's not riding GC, but if he's in yellow ahead by 8 minutes?...

I'm much more concerned about Van Aert than Nibali. He's the only serious threat for Pogacar up there (i would bet he is the reason why UAE is pulling so hard)

After all is said and done, we'll learn that Roglic's crash on stage 3 was intentional. A decoy move to take attention from Jumbo's real GC threat, WVA.

Didn't clock Mohoric was there. I'd be pissing myself if I was risking gifting anything to a Bahrain rider.

Honestly, the only way I can see Sagan winning against Cav in that competition is if Cavendish abandons. But at least try for the stage, yeah.. Sagan used to always be in these breaks.

Maybe because they don't have anyone in the break, or that they Turgis or Latour can win the stage. But it is only one rider so far that helps.
