I never knew there was an Ineos rider in the break. Why would Ineos chase it down then as ROb Hatch kept going on about?

Best designed week 1 transitional stage since Sheffield 2014. Don't let me down, guys.
2019 had both Epernay and Saint-Étienne in the first week.

And I'm not sure why hills and middle mountains are transitional and cobbles not.

It's ASO.

From now on we will have multiple 250k hilly stages every year.

Ok, even I have troubles believing that.
Officially, you can only have two stages longer than 240 km (but while that rule has been in effect, there has been at least one GT afaik with three stages longer than that).
