I have BEGGED route designers to add in many more of these hilly, no respite stages. The LBL, Lombardy type stages. Lemond basically won the 1990 TDF on a stage like this. Team trains get destroyed. Things explode. Much more than in predictable MTFs where everyone rides to power and wins are by seconds.
