Tour de France Tour de France 2022: Stage 4 (Dunkerque – Calais, 171.5k)

I strongly disagree, if they are in good form Hirschi, Mcnulty, Soler and Bennet should be a big help in the mountains, and Laengen and Bjerg on other terrain/flats also.

I think it's a very solid Tour line-up.
That UAE lineup only works because Pogacar lacks any real weaknesses. It's a bunch of middling climbers, some of whom don't excel when riding for others, and two guys for the flat who I wouldn't call top tier. So far Pog's been lucky to have one or two teammates anywhere near him when things get tense on the flat. He'll probably be fine anyway, but the potential for disaster is still there.

Funny record and probably not his intention from the start.

I’m surprised no one wants to get in the break. If you don’t try, you won’t win.
They would probably not succeed in a break, but at least try and have a small possibility for a win.

Wasn't there a stage in the Tour a few years ago where we had no break. These 1 and 2 man breaks are a paradise in comparison

Someone needs to light up this race. Please.

The stage looks hilly but looking closer at hills it seems this will be another bunch sprint deal.

Cort will defend his dotted jersey and perhaps catch a break. That would be nice for a change.

Jumbo and Ineos to work together and racing high pace. Rog to attack on the last climb but Vinoukorov and Lance catches up and wins in the same time. A stage like that please

Just as predicted

I like sprints, so I don’t mind sprint stages. But I’ve been breaking the sprint stage cardinal rule this Tour and watching some of the stages before 10km to go, in the forlorn hope of wind or someone trying to drop the least climby sprinters… and I officially hate it.

Yeah, same. I've been watching the stage continuously since the neutral zone actually (in a window on the side of my monitor) while working, and although at least it's not distracting (because absolutely nothing happened all day), sometimes I question my own decisions.
