If they don't play games, Powless will be the new yellow jersey

Meanwhile Vingegård's group is recovering a bit with a great work by Van Aert and Pidcock finally working

Two EF riders in the break will help avoid the cat and mouse.

I wouldn’t call anyone a fool in this case, but what exactly was he doing chasing his own team?
JV had horrible luck, but EF chasing themselves is just dumb.
I think his tactics have worked out great. Whittle the numbers down in the peloton leaving less and less to chase - this has benefitted Powless, not weakened his chances

Monster Van Aert and Ineos finally contributing is saving this kind of somehow. Pog taking less than 30 seconds on Vingegaard on Co is amazingly the best outcome given the circumstances.

Probably wont be more than 25-30s second in the end for Pog.

Saying the Tour is over is just people being dramatic, even though he is the clear favorite of course.

Anyone he was going to whittle out wasn’t going to be of much assistance in the chase, “Pull hard in the group chasing your teammates because that will make them less likely to be caught” is true galaxy brain stuff
