If stages are valued by Jumbo, then why did stage 6 happen like it did?
I dont think we will ever get the real answer to that.
Speculation but I feel like there has been or is some turmoil behind the scenes.

Jumbo so stupid, WVA the Belgian pozzato such a primadonna and want as many wins as possible, a detriment to his team. They should be saving energy to take on Pogacar next week in the Alpes, not working for this Belgian pozzato that already secures Green jersey and pull pogacar to more bonus seconds.
What is Van hoojdonck doing?
Started reading this as Belgian potato.
My commentator just announced there might be waterfalls soon. One must keep ones eyes on the most important stuff!![]()
With his resume...Wiggins has some job riding around France on a motorbike for 3 weeks.

Would that make Skujins the Latvian potato?
Why would a big break go if you ride away yourself with 3 dudes? Or better yet, why would he keep riding in a group of 3, knowing he has 0 chance to stay away as soon as they started chasing and knowing full well Pogacar was the overwhelming favorite if he wasted himself in a break.Because Wout rightfully so thought a big break would go and because some teams inexplicably began to chase, like Alpecin, thinking Jasper Phillipsen of all people could win. Might as well been his easiest stage in his life. Thats just hindsight criticizing Wout, but thats CN favorite discipline these days.
Covid is going to beat Pogi.
Usually the dynamic is when 3 goes that you either get caught or a bigger group joins the front trio. When the break got established and got time, logic would dictate than only 1 or maybe 2 teams would want to chase. It was more teams for some reason, and thats hard to tell. At that point the break had what, 3-4 minutes, and its probably better to just commit for the stage at that point than giving up having wasted all the energy. Why would a big break go if you ride away yourself with 3 dudes? And yes, CN is overwhelmingly criticizing Van Aert, because he just keeps giving reasons to be criticized.
Pidcock looks like a hobbit between WVA and Ganna
I do think BEX have a certain pathology to chase all day for Matthews when he's got 0% of winning from the main bunch.Usually the dynamic is when 3 goes that you either get caught or a bigger group joins the front trio. Again, its impossible to know whats going to happen. He tried, and all kinds of circumstances made it so that the break got caught. If the break isnt caught Wout wins the stage easier than Armstrong gapping Ullrich on the first mountain stage.

Yep. This is what he said yesterday on David Millar and Ned Boulting's cycling podcast Never Strays Far.
Episode and podcast recommended,
Jumbo Visma have only won grand tours without WVA in the raceIsn't his mere participation in the race subject to criticism according to you?
Loved the “vroom, vroom” hand signal![]()
