I think UAE will be glad of an easy day ahead of the Alps. It is up to the other teams seeking a stage win to control and bring back the break today.

UAE will obviously try have Pog win everything he can so that if he gets non-serious covid they can hide it and have as big a margin of error as possible ¬_¬

The Jumbo hate is getting a bit excessive here... If theyd be fullblown chasing a group of 8 yes theyd be idiots (like they so often are), but as it turns out the group is alot smaller and weaker than it shouldve been reasonably expected on a day like today... Controlling a group of 3 on a stage vA has a 95% chance of winning isnt stupid at all lol. And no UAE would be chilling today regardless

And Pogacar is at least 99% likely to be top 3 and take more time on Vingegaard.

You have to weigh up whether it is worth having the team riding at the front all day to give him the chance of winning a few bonus seconds. I don't see the benefit of that approach, he'll need to use his full team tomorrow and it's better for them to do it with fresher legs.

I value a stage win significantly higher than 4 or 6 seconds on GC, but I can see why people would disagree. Also theres something to be said for forcing UAE to keep yellow especially now that they lost their guy for the Luke Rowe role, but I dont think thats particularly important

Jumbo so stupid, WVA the Belgian pozzato such a primadonna and want as many wins as possible, a detriment to his team. They should be saving energy to take on Pogacar next week in the Alpes, not working for this Belgian pozzato that already secures Green jersey and pull pogacar to more bonus seconds.

What is Van hoojdonck doing?

UAE would have to ride cos Cattaneo is in the break. They'd lose yellow if they didn't keep that sub 4 mins as a gap, and if they didn't he's not really someone you want to give a big gap to. You can't really leave the break get 10 mins or so with him there.

If you have a horse like Wout you ride him. Let’s face it, the odds of either Vingegaard or Roglic beating Pogacar are pretty long; the odds of Wout cleaning up a few more stages and the green jersey are much shorter.

So Laengen retired along with Wellens, Vermaerke and Bouchard. Was that all after the early crash? Only just tuning in.

Being aggressive for Van Aert probably includes bonus seconds for Pog. Based on everything I have seen they are the big favorites in any kind of uphill sprint.
This is what I fear for this stage. Van Aert vs Pog. Will only hurt Jonas and Roglic :(

If stages are valued by Jumbo, then why did stage 6 happen like it did?

Id be losing my *** being DS for half of these teams for somehow getting intimidated by Jumbo and UAE. This is a CLEAR breakaway stage in TOUR DE FRANCE that they are throwing away for absolutely zero reason. Sure, there was a small crash, and so what? Should these team care? Not at all.

Also, can we make a rule that makes it illegal to clog the entire road? Thats not racing.

Because Wout rightfully so thought a big break would go and because some teams inexplicably began to chase, like Alpecin, thinking Jasper Phillipsen of all people could win. Might as well been his easiest stage in his life. Thats just hindsight criticizing Wout, but thats CN favorite discipline these days.

Yeah well, a bigger than small crash, but these guys are riding a different race to at least half the other teams that has nothing else going for them than going in the break... but they got intimidated/blocked by the two biggest teams, unfortunately.
