Yep. Jumbo played pretty well today.I don't know what some of you people are watching, but it looks like JV played it perfectly for a relatively stress free day.

If you call that an attack, I don't know what to tell you.How on earth did it benefit the team, that Van Aert attacked?

Someone let the wheel go and they rode for a while. What would you call it then, with WvA and MvdP out in front of the peloton?
Two guys rolling to see what happens after a gap accidentally opened. It's called racing. What would you call it then, with WvA and MvdP out in front of the peloton?

He looks fine to me so I doubt it cost him much at allIt cost HIM - but that is obviously not a problem, if he leaves the Tour tonight...
People have to stop assigning in hindsight to Jumbo or in that matter any other team some kind of omnscient control over circumstances. Teams adapt.I don't know what some of you people are watching, but it looks like JV played it perfectly for a relatively stress free day.

My theory is that mvdp was pushing the pace just to make it harder for jakobsen et al to finish inside the time limit. It sort of worked, the breakaway picked up the pace.
