There is nothing odd about Danish commentators rooting for a Danish team.

When Danish football teams play international matches, it would be weird to not root for them, just because the striker scoring the goals is Spanish, or whatever.

The whole from "Schleck is the Danish Darling, Contador is the Enemy" to "Contador is the Danish Darling, Schleck is the Enemy" situation is what made me realise that cheering for riders based what team they ride for is kinda silly.

Some people need an enemy for the world to make sense.

But it's the same in any sport, even within the same country.

If the most hated FCK player changes teams to Broendby, the Broendby fans start loving him, while the FCK fans start hating him.

Some in this group like VDP will need to go early and get some insurance, over the next easy-ish climb and downhill could be the place.

Trek again with the wrong priorities - polkadots for Ciccone instead of the stage - when they finally got the right riders in the break

Cycling teams are not like all other sports teams though. The CSC riders didn't train together every day in Lyngby or wherever Riis Cycling was based.

I know it may sounds rich coming from a guy who supports all the Basque riders, but that's not something I've ever been instructed to do by a commentator (or maybe I have. Basque is not my strong suit).
