How on earth do you fail to close a 20-second gap in 12 kilometres? Huge, huge fail by the sprint teams. Happy for Asgreen though, after some difficult years.
The four upfront were all good rouleurs and a lot of the last 15k was downhill, which always favours breakaways.

Really happy for the break. After the bully move from Philipsen Lotto pulled like mad. :D

I never understood the tactics of the other teams on this stages. Waiting for tomorrow for a 20 rider break doesn't offer big chances either.

Whole break should gift Campenaerts half their months wages, ridiculous sacrifice pull at the end.
Edit: loved it gotta say
Now that was pure logic. But heard Danish commentators mentioning that he has gained 20kg in weight since he dropped his mountain adventure tryouts. Is this true or just for mainstream TV entertainment?

Plenty of good rouleurs in the peloton, but Politt was the only one to do a big turn. Coincidentally, that was the only big chunk taken out of the gap too.

Philipsen won the sprint with ease, who would've thought? DSM and Jayco are clowns, but at least they went into the stage with a clear goal in mind. That said goal was clear to fail, alas. These other teams on the other hand, screw them all. Didn't do jack trying to get into the break, didn't do jack to help the chase. Only started doing something opportunistic when the calf had all but died. I am glad they failed.
