That's a strong enough break for so early in the stage and race. Wouldn't be expecting someone like Mohoric up there

LOL, just watch. They have literally been controlling since the first meter of this stage.
Because they have the hot favourite to win the Tour so they don't want chaos already on first stage. It would be a disaster if they let 30 riders go in the break.

This is not a classic. They are trying to win the whole thing! This stage is the typical hard work stage for little gains.
They want to make it as hard as possible this first week, so they can drop other GC riders and take more time

They were reacting whenever the group went up to 10 guys, that's not a disaster scenario at all. UAE always controls.

yeah thats what i meant, realistically they won't have a problem here but in the last few years UAE has had a great habit of letting absurdly large or dangerous breaks go away

It is just overreactions from a few posters. UAE did nothing "wrong" at all there.

If you wanna bury Vingegaard, today is much better.
Big effort, through-out the whole stage, for little gain. I think not.

Less effort, through-out the day tomorrow, and bigger chance to get a few seconds on San Luca with a big effort. It should fit Pog better than Vinge.
