DSM having Bardet winning but condemning Jakobsen to OTL would be one of the most bizarre anomalies in results ever at the Tour.

You'd say they're more likely to get wins out of Jakobsen than Bardet on any given day, but Bardet in the MJ would probably be more popular.

Well, my mother would be cheering at least, she loves Romain Bardet.
Proof that Bardet is a house wife's favourite

At this point EF gotta make the decision to drop back Healy. I don't see him catching up. They can still make it a sprint for Van den Berg (or Bettiol).

Ofcourse Trek will help with 2 guys after the climb, but it's only 15ish km flat-ish (slightly downhill honestly).

Van Gils and Aranburu still there too as "faster" guys, but Aranburu only Mas with him I think and Van Gils only Campenaerts and they know he can't beat Van Aert or Pedersen ofcourse;

This is a bit underwhelming, I guess, but on the other hand, it perhaps wasn't realistic to expect GC fireworks on the first stage.

It seems that Vingegaard is suffering a bit. Don't think it is dramatic enough that he would lose time at this point, but doesn't look all that comfortable [then again, who knows]
