Jonas probably has some Ace of Base in his Spotify rotation.
Some of the best pop of the 70s and 80s came from (mainland) Europe. Lots of tracks people did not know came from small nations. Laid Back (Danes) have a couple of absolute killer tracks. Falco (Austrian) is often overlooked, probably because everybody has grown tired of his biggest hit, but a track like Der Kommissar is an absolute banger. But all those countries also produced absolute trash. There was a huge underground new wave movement in Belgium in the 80s that produced top tracks... but we are also responsible for 2 Unlimited (though most people think this is a Dutch band, only the singers were Dutch, the founders, producers, writers... were Belgians). How can a country like Sweden produce a superb band like ABBA, and at the same time produce garbage like Ace of base?!
Today's podium, they are going to play Milli VanilliSome of the best pop of the 70s and 80s came from (mainland) Europe. Lots of tracks people did not know came from small nations. The biggest farce is that at the time Ace of Base was often mentioned as the new ABBA. And not just because they were 2 guys and 2 girls.
They actually had some good songs to dance to, too bad they didn't sing any of them.Today's podium, they are going to play Milli Vanilli
