It's a bit close for comfort at the moment, I think Pogacar will go earlyish on 11 on Puy Mary to put a lot of distance between himself and Vingegaard, he cannot let him ride himself into this race.

The problem for Vingegaard in the mountains is he has no team. Whether UAE can marshall their troops and press their team advantage likely decides the outcomce, if Jonas is as good as he appears.
After teh Giro Pog was the greatest of all time and in a league of his own but I always pointed to the Giro field and how he had no real competition
Of course he is a top rider but with more equal competition he doesnt look so way out ahead

Well, he still does. He has the Giro in his legs. He is obviously a level above everyone bar a fit Vingegaard (who on his side also shows his impressive level here).
Slimco Evenepoel is so far closer than imagined. But that can only be good.
Pogacar today happened just as he wanted. Tadeg and remco obviously on same team..against jonas. As they chat after stages. Tadeg for the win remco as high as possible. Roglic good ride but not a player unless big 2 collapse.

...and yet he still can't stay with Vingo and Pogi when they accelerate. Absent a crash/mechanical/hunger issue from Pogi, how does Remco get yellow?

Remco was always going to win today. This could be the year he turns things around, but past performances have me expecting him to suddenly lose 12 or so minutes on a mountain stage later in the Tour.

I had no expectations for Jonas today. He kept himself in contention and I can imagine him having a good third week. All things considered, he can be happy about where things sit today.

Currently the first 12 riders in gc are from just 5 teams. That's not a good thing.

Remco in this Tour is about the best and the readiest Remco ever in a GT it seems, going to be super exciting for the whole race if he holds up.
But of course Almeida vs Ayuso is the more important take of the day.

TT’s are a very “mental” as well as physical discipline, so if he lost time because of that (which was an imagined, not an actual, problem) that’s part of his TT performance. They are not on erg trainers but on the road.

Visma team doesn't look that great for the mountains, but the true is Emirates, Bora and quick step also need to use the super domestiques to make the race hard, because everybody of 4 guys need to attack.

No surprises with Vingegaard. Roglic solid. Remco as expected same with Pogacar. No big surprises among the GC riders . Thought for a moment there Remco was having bike issues. Vingegaard can only hope to get better as the race goes on. Rodriguez probably hoped for better. Thomas started like a scalded cat then struggled but still a decent ride. Good ride by Campenaerts.
We learned how entertaining a TT can be given the right circumstances.
Bizarrely I think all of the leading GC contenders will be happy with that result for varying reasons. Pogacar extends his advantage on his main rival Vingegaard. Evenopoel wins the stage and cements his podium position. Vingegaard was a lot better than expected given his crash and poor preparation. Roglic stayed in touch for a podium position and looks to be riding solidly if not in spectacular form. Rodriquez lost some time but that was probably to be expected beforehand.
Adam Yates looks to be the biggest loser in the fight for supremacy within UAE. If he wasn't already firmly in the role of domestique he most definitely is now. The internal dynamic between Almedia and Ayuso only got more interesting as very little separates them.
